Killowen Terrace, Rostrevor

This modest yet elegant rear extension has been carefully designed to sit comfortably within the character of Killowen Terrace and its setting near Victoria Square and Kilbroney Park. Positioned to the rear, the extension is deliberately low in scale, with the roofline set below neighbouring elements to avoid any impact on adjoining properties.

Replacing an outdated outbuilding, the proposal enhances both the function and appearance of the rear of this early 20thcentury terraced brick house. Charred black timber cladding and slim glazing create a simple contemporary addition that complements the existing brickwork while remaining clearly secondary.

The design improves daylight within the home, strengthens the connection to the garden, and provides practical space for modern family living
